Situated in and around Coniston, right at the heart of England's beautiful Lake District are these eleven, great-value cottages. Little Arrow is a peaceful hamlet less than 2 miles south of Coniston village. Most of the cottages have been converted from the stone outbuildings of the 17th century farmhouse, and set in enchanting award-winning gardens. With properties ranging from cosy hideaways for two, to larger cottages sleeping twelve, ideal for families or friends; you're sure to find just the place for you. The range of Cottages sleep 2-12 people.

Visitors are encouraged to support the local area and shop locally and there is a good range of shops to supply all your holiday essentials. If you'd rather eat out, you'll be spoilt by the many great places to eat and drink, in and around Coniston and Torver. If you don't want to drive the local community bus connects with the Ambleside and Hawkshead service in a northerly direction; and to Ulverston and Barrow-in-Furness in a southerly direction. It stops outside the cottages in Little Arrow.

Coniston is a lively village during the main season, but is small enough to retain its warmth and friendliness. It has an excellent and varied range of shops, including a Post Office, bank and petrol station. Coniston also has its own Tourist Information Centre which is open all year round. The cottages in Coniston are all conveniently situated close to the village centre, making them an ideal holiday base at the foot of the Old Man.

With a choice of superb rural or village-based locations the cottages are full of character and great value for money. Some are dog friendly and every cottage is within half a mile of a good pub! Many walks begin right on the doorstep making this a great base for outdoor activity holidays. Family owned and run with very high standards of comfort and cleanliness; quality rated by the AA at 3 or 4 star. Many of the cottages have free Wi-Fi. The Lake District, is a great place for a break whatever the time of year, with a full programme of county shows and music festivals, walks, talks and fairs. There are so many exceptional events in the calendar, with something for all tastes and ages. Enjoy the Worlds Original Marmalade Awards at Dalemain and explore the county in the Great Peter Rabbit Egg Hunt. You can step back in time at the Ulverston Dickensian Festival.

The Lickle Valley is an undiscovered gem of the Lake District - a beautiful, quiet valley with good access to the south and west lakes, with absolutely stunning views. There is an excellent local pub (the Blacksmiths Arms) which serves good food within a short walk of the cottages. The market town of Broughton-in-Furness, just two miles away, is steeped in history, dating back to the eleventh century, located in a conservation area within the Lake District National Park, yet just a few miles from the coast, Broughton is an ideal base for a walking holiday, and its quiet local roads and bridleways make it popular with cyclists and horse riders.

If you prefer your peaceful surroundings accompanied by a superb breakfast and friendly service, then you may prefer the charming Wheelgate B&B . Where you can retire at the end of your day to one of the individual bedrooms, designed entirely with your comfort in mind.

'Low Water End' (opposite) is a new addition to Coniston Cottages; it has almost magical properties. Hidden away in the heart of Arthur Ransome country with enough grounds for children to play all day, with lake frontage, boats, a slipway and not a computer game, TV or video in sight. Low Water End is a property at the Southern tip of Coniston Water with two self-catering holiday cottages;
