Live history in Lincoln with its magnificent Cathedral it has one of the most spectacular locations of any of the British cathedrals. Dominating Lincoln's skyline, it can be seen from approximately 20 miles in certain directions. Lincoln Castle is also located in the quaint historical quarter. In 1068, two years after the Battle of Hastings, William the Conqueror began building Lincoln Castle on a site occupied since Roman times and for years it dominated the Lincoln skyline until the cathedral was built.
