Take time out on your Welsh holiday to visit this working small holding, home to the Fforest Uchaf Horse and Pony Rehabilitation Centre & Pit Pony Sanctuary. The centre provides tender loving care for horses and ponies in need, there are ponies of all shapes and sizes with many coming from a background of misery and mistreatment. Their home on the pastures and unconditional love soon gives them a new lease of life, come and see for yourselves.

Visitors can park their car for free and go for a guided for a quiet walk in the high pastures, with a magnificent panoramic backdrop view over the Taff Valley. On clear days you can even see the Brecon Beacons in the distance.

Meet the ponies, hear their stories and see them enjoying their new life grazing and playing in the sun. Your guide will take you by the ponds and walk you just touching the woodland, a home of rare and diverse wildlife that share the Farm.

Perhaps taking time out to stop by the ponds and watch the life going on under-water, quiet visitors may be treated to seeing the wild Raptors soaring on the thermals that rise from the Valley floor below. For those visitors interested in the Welsh Heritage of Pit Ponies they will explain the relationship between their locality and coal mining.
