Travelling to Scarborough, Whitby & Filey
By Road: Scarborough is easily accessible by road and rail. If you?re driving, from the south just take the M1 and then at Leeds take the A64 via York and Pickering. From the North, take the A1 and then head east at Bradbury onto the A689 to join the A19 south past Middlesborough, east on the A174 and then onto Scarborough direct on the A171. From the west, just take the M62 and then the A64 via York.
By Rail: 3 hours from London - change at York . From the north (e.g., Edinburgh ), 3 hrs. 35mins. Change at York . From the west there are various services via Manchester and onto the Trans-Pennine line with trains direct to Scarborough (I hour) from Hull.
By Air: Leeds/Bradford Airport - then taxi to Leeds Railway Station; Humberside Airport - then bus/taxi to Hull Railway Station; Manchester Airport - there is a rail link in the airport (change at Manchester Piccadilly).
Both Stagecoach and
National Express run very regular services to the area seven days per week, and there are very busy regular train schedules from a selection of rail operators from major stations around the UK.
