Overlooking a Cotswold area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in the heart of the English countryside, you will find what can only be described as English hospitality at its very finest. Uplands House is a great base to explore everything the Heart of England has to offer. Close to Moreton-in-Marsh, Stratford-on-Avon, Chipping Campden and Warwick Castle, there are no less than 5 National Trust houses within a 30 minute drive.

Uplands House is a five star bed and breakfast, with a gold award, located close to Banbury in Oxfordshire. Set in a beautiful one acre garden, visitors arrive to an enthusiastic welcome from hosts Poppy & Graham; friendliness, kindness, comfort and good food are very much the order of the day here. Guests normally arrive in time for tea, served with delicious, home-made cake; by the fire in the winter or on the terrace in summer. Fine Dining in the beautifully laid regency dining room is another thing that sets this B&B apart, unusually, dinner is an optional extra and not to be missed.

The elegant and inviting drawing room is always at the disposal of guests and tea or coffee is available at any time. Over-looking the rose garden, the croquet lawn and parkland, it's an ideal place to relax at any time; meet fellow guests and make new friends, gather together before dinner and enjoy a welcoming glass of wine, a tumbler of Pimms, a gin and tonic, a whisky, or some Champagne. The drinks cupboard always contains a good choice of before and after dinner drinks. At Uplands guests eat together around one table, with your hosts, but if you prefer to eat on your own that's ok to. Feel free to invite your local friends to join you for dinner.

The Orangery often becomes a second dining area, overlooking the fountain, the lily pond, and the rose garden. The outlook in summer is delightful as rose perfume wafts in from the floodlit garden. Have a drink by the bubbling brook on fine evenings and listen to the early evening call of the plovers. Later the owls can often be heard hooting and if you're really lucky you might catch the occasional glimpse of a shooting star.

The individual, en-suite bedrooms at Uplands are sumptuously furnished for your every comfort. The beautiful linens and comfortable beds guarantee a thoroughly restful nights sleep and all bedrooms enjoy beautiful views. Revel in the sumptuous fluffy towels and dressing gowns, soap, shampoo and bubble bath. The duvets and pillows are goose down and feather, the linen, Swiss Chantilly Lace, crisply laundered and a joy to sleep in.

Eating and drinking will be a pleasurable part of your stay, a really delicious home cooked candlelit dinner is available most evenings and can be whatever you want it to be - let your hosts know what you would like to eat, and be sure to let them know in advance what you don't eat. They will cater for all dietary requirements. They also have a very good wine list and those who enjoy a fine bottle will be spoilt for choice.

Begin the day with a tasty and satisfying Warwickshire breakfast, or cereals and berries from the garden with organic honey yogurt. This may be followed by a choice of eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes, and mushrooms, baked beans, black pudding, and hash browns. Smoked salmon, kippers and kedgeree need to be ordered in advance. Finally, there is plenty of toast with a good selection of home-made jams and marmalades, and of course, the coffee and tea of your choice. Everything is either home, or locally sourced.

Uplands House is perfectly placed for a tour of the Cotswolds with its many old and historic market towns and honey coloured hamlets. Explore Shakespeare's Stratford, go to the theatre and be back for a late dinner. Visit Oxford, the City of dreaming spires, Woodstock and Blenheim Palace are also close by.

Warwick, Stratford and Cheltenham races are close and Silverstone racetrack. For the energetic, tennis and riding are also available, try your hand at Clay Pigeon Shooting at Nadbury House, Edgehill. Uplands has a special relationship with Tadmarton Golf Club and guests booking through them receive discounted green fees.

On thing's for certain - you'll want to return again & again!
