Travelling to The Valleys of South Wales

By Road: The Valleys of South Wales enjoy excellent motorway links with easy access from the South East, the Home Counties, the Midlands, and the South West thanks to the M4, M5, and M50.

South East and Home Counties: The M4 junction 32 (Cardiff) links the A470 or as an alternative take the scenic A40 route westwards linking with the A465 Heads of the Valleys road. From London to the centre of the Valleys, it is approximately 150 miles with a journey time of around 3 hours.

Midlands and the North: Use the M6, M5, M50, and A40 or use the A49 which also links with the A465 Heads of the Valleys road. From Birmingham to the centre of the Valleys, it is approximately 106 miles with a journey time of around 2 hours 25 mins.

By Coach: Both Stage Coach and National Express run very regular services to the area seven days per week, with busy regular coach schedules from a selection of major bus stations around the UK.

By Rail: There are regular services from London to Newport and Cardiff with good regional railway links (Valleys Lines) to the Valleys of South Wales. Cardiff is also served hourly from the major cities of Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester and many other towns in the Midlands, the West Country and Southern England.

By Air: Cardiff International, Bristol, and Birmingham airports offer comfort and convenience for passengers to and from Britain.
