Windy Harbour Farm Hotel is situated in a peaceful, rural location just outside Glossop, Derbyshire; In an unrivalled position on the edge of the Peak District National Park, with views over the Woodhead and Longdendale. Windy Harbour is very much a family concern, you can always be sure of a warm Derbyshire welcome, home cooked food and a well- stocked bar offering speciality cask ales.


Windy Harbour Farm Hotel has five double rooms, including one with king size bed, and one twin room. All rooms have stunning views over the surrounding Derbyshire countryside and are individually furnished with your comfort in mind. All rooms have en-suite facilities, complimentary tea and coffee tray, digital television, clock radio and a hair dryer.

Choose from bed and breakfast or dinner, bed and breakfast. Evening meals and lunches are served in the restaurant; afternoon tea is also in the restaurant or served in the garden during the spring and summer. Relax in one of our lounges with a pre-dinner drink before dining.


The restaurant is a lovely room overlooking the garden, with views to the Woodhead valley beyond. Evening dining is usually available Tuesday to Saturday, Sunday lunch is also available. Pre-Booking is advisable as our restaurant may be booked for private functions, to avoid disappointment call us to check availability. Our hot buffets are popular offering dishes such as Chilli, curries, hot pot, potato pie, served with traditional side orders. For large groups such as: walking groups and club meetings, we will happily arrange a menu to suit your budget and taste.

Caravanning & Camping

Windy Harbour Farm Caravan and Camping site has 10 hard standing pitches for touring caravans. Facilities include everything you'd expect from a SP, including 16 Amp electric hook up, water and waste point plus external lighting stand. A separate toilet shower block holds separate ladies/gents WC plus a unisex shower. There is also a grassed area for camping. There is a designated dog exercise area and walk, through our adjacent field, with views over the surrounding countryside.


The area is packed full of things to do and see, a walker and cyclist heaven. With local walks and cycle ways accessible in the area, including the Trans Pennine Trail, the Pennine Way, Pennine Bridleway and the Londendale trail. Just minutes away from these routes the hotel offers a free pick up and drops of service for walkers. The hotel can also provide packed lunches on request. Many of the Peak Districts popular tourist attractions are also within easy reach.


The hotel can cater for most functions - up to 160 (buffet) and approximately 60 for formally seated parties, in either the function room or restaurant. For larger parties they offer marquee hire, perfect for a summer wedding or celebration. The Hotel is licensed for Civil Weddings for parties up to 120 in the function room or 80 people in the restaurant. Both rooms/layouts are suitable for naming ceremonies, civil weddings and vow renewal.


The main function room can accommodate up to 60 people in theatre style or 30 people in boardroom format. We can provide presentation equipment including overhead projector, slide projector and flip chart. We also have a dedicated phone line for internet connection if required. Wireless broadband is available throughout the hotel. As well as the main conference room the hotel can provide additional rooms for break- out sessions.

Glossop train station is less than a mile away with regular services to and from Manchester. We are happy to drop off or pick up from the station.

Just a short drive from the A628 Woodhead Pass giving access to the M1 north and south for access to Yorkshire and beyond. Or take the Snake Pass, also just a few minutes away.
